TO SAN FRANCISCO- 5648 Miles - 9090km

Here I am in San Francisco after traveling the 918 miles (1477km), which separated me from Moab, where I was in hospital for the first x-ray.

The road was terribly long, in the middle of nowhere. On a straight road limited to 65 mph (104km / h), and no radio. The landscape should be beautiful, but I confess that my mind was more focused on the way that I had to do!
It finally took two days! Highly motivated to arrive here as soon as possible!
I saw my surgeon on Friday morning, she scheduled my surgery for next Monday!
Little story for fans of "Grey's Anatomy", the assistant surgeon was called Dr. Yang! funny!
Finally he operation went well, I do not have a plaster but a splint. I will have one when they will remove the stitches! For now it still hurts, but fortunately I have pills against the pain!

You know everything!
But I did it! I finally crossed the United States!

ARCHES- 4730 miles - 7612km

Arches, it's really a beautiful park! All these stone arches, which are created over time, and the intense red color,.... it's really great!

Too bad I could not enjoy it more!
Yes, my road trip ends here, due to a fall in the park. I broke my arm and I had to wait 1 hour for the Rangers to come to gave me a splint and i had to come down. For the record I did a little trek, I walked around during 1:30 on the longest trail and furthest from the park entrance of course. I slipped on what they call here, "snaky sand" and I caught up with my hands. The left arm did not like!

When the rangers arrived, I had to come down with my splint, take my car and go to the nearest hospital 35 km to do some x-ray.
At this moment, i learn that I need to have surgery! It is from here the begins of the war with my insurance!

It's complicated, but to summarize, I had to drive, alone, the 1300km that separated me from San Francisco to find a doctor approved by the insurance and hope to be covered for the operation!
I have an appointment to see an orthopedic specialist Friday morning and I'm waiting to see if I can be made here, or if I should return to France (but the return is not covered by insurance of course, it would be too simple).
So for now I wait, it will be four days it happened, and my hand is still waiting to be attached to my arm! (I do not do half of things, the two bones of the arms are broken!)
You know everything, may be there will be a next post .... I hope it does not end up like that!

It is so beautiful! It's really like in the middle of the Far West, or in one of John Ford westerns!
These huge rock formations contrast with the sky so blue and cloudless! Superb! After the traditional photo of the top of the hill, i descend to a drive around the rocks on the track (yes track, it was in sand!) Chaotic! I was really happy to have a 4X4! But what a pleasure to go around! And when the day goes to the end, the colors become even more intense! It's great! The only problem is that from now i'll have to rub shoulders with hordes of touristssome of which I was already upset! But, landscapes like, you have to deserve it, even if we must confront surly tourists!

ROSWELL- 3910 Miles - 6292km

Bonne nuit!

You thought Roswell was full of little green men at all street corners? Me too! And finally ...... Nope! There is almost nothing! Here we don't really play with the E.T style. Of course if you look carefully there are some clues, most of them are on he windows of fast food, there is a museum and research center on UFOs, you can see a few small details, if you pay attention. Nothing else, not even arestaurant a little crazy, just a McDonald's which look like a flying saucer! Wuhu!
And around, not much either! This city is in the middle of the complete desert, there is nothing! There is a park with lakes that look very nice, but it is closed, because a species of fish have disappeared and they do not know why! Super! Must be the work of aliens! Mystery!
Roswell absolutely did not bring up to my expectations, too bad, i can't win every time! But they have great potential to do a very attractive city and bring crazy tourists! It may be just what they do not want!
I walk around in just half a day, tomorrow I have a big stage, I go to sleep! Good night!

à la sortie de la ville au N, au S, à L'E et à l'O.

Les petits détails, dans la rue

La soucoupe volante

Le lac fermé! dommage ça avait l'air bien!
